Well where to start, Michel and I had a great couple of days hunting in that field around that place. We had a pretty un eventfull couple hours the first morning with only one snow and a nice mallard hen being taken.

Then it was off to the field, When we first arrived I was actually in awe of the amount of geese cacklin and circling above us! As Michel got ready and fondled the A-5 he was planning on purchasing, I slipped into my waders grabbed some shells and hit the ditch! First flight that came over where a bit high but I was able to get a nice mature snow on my second shot.

As Michel put his waders on and came into the field I was able to put down another 2 birds. The rest of the day continued on pretty much the same with huge flocks flying high and groups of 10 or 15 flying nicely in range.

The most memorable part of that day was when a couple of locals took some shots at the HUGE flock that was in the field, and they all lifted off and flew right for me! As I hid in the grass along the ditch I had nearly 800-1000 snows fly over me at under 50 yards, It was kind of overwhelming trying to choose which one to shoot, I did end up getting my first double of the day though!

The Next day started off with Michel and I getting to the field at first light and setting up the silhouettes, We had Widgeons by the thousands flying over head but nothing committing to the 10 mallard dekes and Mr. Robo duck.

By 8:30 we had snows in small numbers flying into the field and we had our first bird down shortly after that. Around 10:30 we had the huge numbers that we where hoping for, and put down another 14 geese by 12:00. Including some beautiful mature birds and my first ever banded bird!

It was a trip worth a thousand and more words! Michel will hopefully accompany my post with a few pics.

Rob, all advice that is given to me is greatly appreciated! It was a pleasure meeting you and hopefully we can do another hunt again some time! p.s. Thanks for the help packing those birds out, Be sure to let me know if you ever want one.

No Worries Symon it was fun watching you run after those wing tipped birds and making the effort to retrieve them.
The best shots I recall was the one of the Geese that hit you in the leg, actually thought it was going to hit you in the chest and the other one that you smoked in the middle of the feild and it came down spinning like a top ;)
Cheers,
Rob

I can't load pics for some reason.

Hopefully Symon can post some that I emailed him.

Want to see Symon in action?

It's still loading but in a little while you can go to Youtube, enter:

"Symon shoots a goose" in the search function and you'll see it all.

And Rob... that is a super cool Browning. I've wanted one of those for years. And delivered on the field too. Thank you.

Like Symon says: "Boom -- Kachew!
