Matty....someone may be able to help you with specfic areas, but generally you can find them driving roads close to dusk or the early morning. That is if they are there. Probably the most effective way unless you get into an area that is holding a lot of them....then you just work your way through the bush. Watch for them at the base of trees or sometimes under evergreens. If you see some thick stuff....give it a kick or wack with a stick as you never know what may come bounding out. We used to be able to do that in some areas of MB for snowshoe hares.

I have seen a ton around the Scuzzy area near Boston Bar..its worth a try, and you might pop a deer too.

Hey Mattisco

If you can go just a little farther than Hope, take the Falls lake turnoff before the toll booth and take the "bypass" pipeline road down to the Upper Coldwater FSR. That way you avoid the $10 bucks. Its about 7 km.

Was up there yesterday and saw a fat Snowshoe hare on the road 100 meters ahead of me but I couldn't get the .22 loaded quick enough and he was gone.

Lots of Bunnies around.

PM me with your email and I'll email you some pictures. I tried to post them here this morning but it doesn't work for me. I got so frustrated I wanted to blast the computer with the 12 gauge but the wife doesn't want a hole in the east wall:roll:

The BC Backroads map books will help you find places people tell you about.

For Scuzzy got to Boston Bar, cross the Fraser river, go south on Green Ranch Road on the West side of the river and continue on until the road turns West and follows Scuzzy Creek West.

My youngest daughter volunteered at the Queens Park petting zoo this summer (New West). She never saw the humour when I went to pick her up and would eyeball the little bunnies in their cages and say .......mmmm dinner!

Remember there's no season for Hare's in M.U.'s 2-2, 2-3, or 2-4. That means you'll be hunting north of the Fraser from 'couver to hope. I did see a few bunny's in the Davis/Boss lakes' area this year as well (Coldwater exit off the Coq.) Good hunting:-)

I know you are looking for something in the lower mainland or close but I have heard that Keremeos area is really good for rabbits.

are you permitted to hunt rabbits in Richmond where they are abundant with an air rifle?

All right!!! Who gave air rifles to the bunnies?

East gate is also not bad for rabbits some years (last year was great, so might suck this year), Boston Bar is about the same drive though. Either way its a $70+ gas trip for wabbits :-D

You want rabbits go to colony farm just off the #7 in Port Coquitlam/Coquitlam. The staff at the prison feed the blighters and they are everywhere. It's next to a highway, between crown land and a reservation so you'll have to check boundaries and use an airsoft. But it might be worth a look.

Can anyone confirm the legality of this? I can only imagine someone standing near Colony Farm with an air rifle just off the highway blasting pellets at rabbits.....recipe for disaster if ya ask me!

And can anyone chime in about hunting rules with air rifles....are they not the same to any gun?

According to a CO I spoke to, yes. Air rifles are fine for small game.
