We are looking for a BCWF Club to co-host a Wild Kidz Camp in your community!

BCWF is now approaching its eighth year of offering the highly successful Wild Kidz Camp. We are currently looking for a host community and BCWF Member Club that would like to host an event in the Summer of 2017.

Wild Kidz Camps are week-long day camps with a purpose to connect children to nature and introduce them and their families to hunting, angling, outdoor appreciation, your Club and the B.C. Wildlife Federation.

The camp is absolutely FREE for participants, and is a great opportunity to get children from your community outdoors and exploring BC’s natural environment, wildlife and recreational opportunities.

BCWF’s role is to secure funding, help organize, and deliver the camp, and two BCWF employees are present throughout the entire week to supervise the children.

BCWF’s role is to take children on various field trips where they are exposed to a wide spectrum of outdoor experiences (Please see the 2015 Wild Kidz Camp Report on our website for a sample of possible activities www.bcwf.bc.ca).

Although BCWF can take care of most of the organizational work, we require some volunteer help from the Club and any in-kind support that is available.

Here are some of the ways you can help us deliver an exceptional Wild Kidz Camp program to your community:

Put us in contact with members of your club that would be interested in leading one or two activities throughout the week (e.g. building bird houses, archery, shooting, preparing fur hides etc.),

Donate your clubhouse or help us secure a community hall where we can set up a base-camp
Act as a local liaison to help us with programming and make contacts with other local outdoor enthusiasts
Identify local activities that may be suitable such as a field trip to a local fish hatchery, a local waterfall, hiking area or fishing spot\

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact BCWF Wetlands Education Manager, Neil Fletcher via email at wetlands@bcwf.bc.ca

or call 1-888-881-2293.

With your support, we look forward to creating a great experience and encouraging a new generation of conservationists!
