had one a bunch of years ago - used it as a beater ,excelent plinker and was cheap to shoot, accuracy was so so, a buddy has a scoped one for short range deer and it works well for him -same as my 3030 at short range.

I have owned 2, great plinkers, cheap, inaccurate about 6moa at 100 with open sites, but fun to play with, I used them lots with new shooters, seems like all newbies love semi-auto. got mine for 140 from Powder keg, and rounds were 7 bucks a box of 20, pretty cheap, if your looking for a cheap toy, go for it.

SKS are terrific plinkers. Cheap ammo, look for the crates of 1200 when they go on sale from Lever Arms in Van. Great to beat on. I threw a synthetic "Choate" stock on mine with a compact 4X scope. The wood stocks that come with the rifles are really short, like shooting a kids BB gun, that's why I switched. I would look for a detach magazine, too, but that's just my preference.
