They were invented by CIL I believe. The company may have some info.
I think that they were sold by " Dominion" I see the Montana Rifle Co. is listing it for their customs. Just trying to get some info on this cal. It's not often you hear about it ,or why it never lasted.

Aubrey White, developed the “Imperial Magnum” cartridge series based on the .404 Jeffery case in the 1980s. The RUM series are pretty much a copy of these cartridges, which is why they have faded out in the past few years.

imperial had faded out long before the rum was even a wet dream , if anything they faded away due to the fact of the dificulty in locating reloading suplies Vs the WBY cartridges which did pretty much the same thing in big magnums, and only to be shoved around as well by lazzeroni , and at the time no one felt the need for a super magnum of the imperials proportions and oddities with there 303 mag and other oddballs , and the simple fact they were far and few between and never chambered in a consumer rifle but rather more expensive rifles such as dakota arms etc that a common hunter couldnt afford , if I recall the price sheets (I am still looking in binders) a ready to go rifle was in the 2000-3000 price range

They faded away because he didn't have the resources to contract anyone to produce brass till it was too late its a shame he was away ahead of the other boys.

I have never seen one, but heard of them. I have the first magnum class canadian rifle made
280 ross, guys use 300 H&H magnums cases and take off belt and neck size down as brass is getting hard to find. hey all the new short action magnums have no belts, and with todays powders not much would keep up with this great
old gun, don't think I would try with ross action but a good bolt would be fine.

Steve_j is on the right track. The old Imperial Cartridge had nothing to do with the "Imperial Magnum". Aubrey designed the line of cartridges, had a factory in South America make the brass. I'm not sure, but I think he had bought the Imperial name, little foggy on that tho. The guns were on Sako actions, stocks McMillian. At one point they had Kimber making barrels, but when Kimber Oregon went belly up they lost a bunch. Aubrey usually had/has a display of the whole line at Kamloops & Calgary gunshows. The loss of a Canadian grant of some sort also helped shut them down. Apparently developing a 'gun company' in Canada is not as worthwhile or pc as handouts to your relatives in Quebec. As well as the RUM introductions.
My info is from one of the fellows involved, and I could have been only half listening as usual.
