Finally got out for ducks!!

Finally was able to get out for a duck hunt today with a buddy of mine.
We went out to Widgeon Island in Cowichan Bay with his big yellow lab.
Had a blast!! and even got a few! ;-)

Dog worked as well as he has ever and did a great job in chasing down a cripple that swam away and dove to get away from him.
Was a little cold at daybreak but it was a blue bird day in the sunshine later.
Great time!! :-)

Excellent to hear! Love those bluebird days.
We've been somewhat fogged in here up towards the Pitt River. Hopefully the fog disapates out here and the rain holds off until after saturday. I hope to start the new year off with a "bang"!

I am hoping to get out on New Years Day as well
I don't have to be back at work until tuesday so I have a few more days to get out and bang away

Blacktail what kind of ducks did you guys get? The last time i was down that way it was mostly buffleheads and merganzers.

we snagged widgeons and a couple of green wing teals
The mallards just didnt want to come in to our set
