In the body of the email include your name, phone number and a brief description of the photo.

Contest Rules

Contest is void where prohibited by law.

By entering the BC Wildlife Federation 2016 Photo Contest, you agree to abide by these Official Rules and any other terms and conditions referenced in these Official Rules.
Eligibility

Contest is open to residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) who have taken photos of BC’s fish, wildlife, habitats, or outdoor activities that connect them to these resources, and must be an active member of the BC Wildlife Federation (either through direct membership, or the membership of a Club affiliated with the BCWF).
All entrants must be 19 years of age or have the written consent of a parent/guardian.

Employees and their parents, siblings and children, and persons living with an employee of the BCWF are ineligible to enter.


General Guidelines and Standards

Images must have been taken in the province of British Columbia and be of LIVE fish, wildlife or fowl
- Include the name of the species when submitting the photo
Images must have a short description of the photo(s) upon submission.
- For example, when and where was the picture taken, is there a story behind the photo, what is the significance etc.
To submit your entry, you must email a digital copy of your photo(s) to marketing@bcwf.bc.ca with “BCWF Photo Contest” in the subject line; please include your first and last name, phone number, as well as a short description of each photo.
- Photo name example: “Your_Name_Grizzly_Bear.jpeg”

Number of photo submissions is unlimited.

Photograph submissions must not have been previously published. Entrants must own all rights to the photographs submitted. As such, entrants hold the BC Wildlife Federation harmless from any breach of copyright.

Photos must be taken with a camera that has a resolution of at least 5 megapixels, photos from camera phones will not be accepted as the quality is too low - (300ppi preferred).

Entries are to be digital photographs and submitted electronically as jpeg files. Content alteration of digital files is not acceptable; including combining multiple photos. Cropping of photos is permitted, tonal or colour corrections are acceptable. Borders, frames, text or other graphic treatments are not permitted.

12 Winners will be selected for the 2017 calendar; one for each month. Each winner will receive full photo credit in the calendar.

Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received.

By entering the contest the entrant consents to the collection of all personal information included on their entry and agrees to the use and disclosure of such information by the BC Wildlife Federation. All personal information collected from entrants will be used only for the purposes of administering the contest and for marketing and promotional purposes as contemplated by these rules; under no circumstances will any personal information be sold or rented to third parties.

By submitting an entry, you hereby represent and warrant that (a) you have the right to grant the rights granted herein or, alternatively, you have obtained all necessary rights and permissions to use and submit your photograph in connection with the Contest and to provide all the rights specified in these Official Rules; and (b) your photograph and the use thereof as contemplated herein does not and will not violate, misappropriate, or infringe upon any law or regulation or the rights of any third party, including without limitation any copyright, trademark, or any rights of publicity or privacy, or any other intellectual property or proprietary rights. By submitting a photograph to the Contest, you hereby grant to the BC Wildlife Federation a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, nonexclusive license to publish, reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt, edit, modify, translate, create derivative works based upon, and otherwise use and sublicense your photograph, or any portion thereof (including without limitation any names, likenesses, or personas shown in the photograph), in connection with the Contest and for any other purpose (including without limitation for entertainment, instruction/education, advertising, marketing, promotional and/or publicity purposes), and to incorporate your photograph into other works in any manner, form, media or technology now known or later developed. BCWF will have no obligation to publish or use or retain any photograph you submit or to return any photograph to you. You agree that it is your sole responsibility to obtain all permissions and releases necessary for the grant of the rights contained in this paragraph. You will not be entitled to compensation for any use by BCWF, or its agents, licensees or assignees, of your photograph.

The content of an entered photograph must be acceptable for all viewing audiences. BCWF will automatically disqualify any Entrant that submits a photograph that contains any obscene or indecent viewing, or that presents BCWF in a negative light; and,

Entrants will be deemed to have understood the above rules and agree to be bound by them when entering this competition.


Prizes

12 winners will have their photos featured in our 2017 BCWF Wildlife Calendar and receive an exclusive BCWF prize pack!


Timing

Contest period begins Monday, May 9th, 2016. Deadline to submit photos to BCWF is September 23rd, 2016 by 4:00 PM PST.

The 12 winners will be contacted and announced no later than September 30th, 2016 by 4:00pm.

The winners will be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of The BC Wildlife Federation the week of September 26th, 2016.
