I am in the market for a new pair of binoculars and was wondering what other guys are using and what they think of them? I was looking at the bushnell legend series...anyone using them? I am only looking at something in the mid price range, $400 -$600. It would be nice to have some high end Leicas or Zeiss but I think that is out of the question for me right now.

Bluetick, you can't go wrong with the bushnell legend series. They are a good product and priced well out of Russells in Alberta. I would suggest getting the 10x42.

Also, the Legends have Rain Guard of which I am an unpaid advocate.

I have a pair of Leupold Cascades 8X42's that I like very much. And you can't beat the warranty if it's required.

Russells have the for $379.99 - a $30.00 drop from last year.

I got fortunate and bought one of the last pairs of Russian Military binoculars off Ebay that have the Zeiss glass for 49 bucks. No rubber on the eypieces, pretty plain body but they see very well . 8x42 i believe. If I had that much money for bino's i would get a pair of Zeiss or Leica off Ebay.

You're clearly making too much money, Bluetick. Maybe you should buy some tools instead.
