They are nice looking dogs. Always remind me of a nicely built Treeing Walker hound. Generally, they are a breed that remembers they are a dog, not some godlike creature that we are supposed to serve! We had pointers when I was a kid. Parents imported a few from England. One in particular was a Very nicely built dog, best one I have ever seen. Grew up in a family of dog lovers, parents showed dogs for years and Dad judged all over the world for many years. It was a bit of a curse though, I can only appreciate a very well built dog, lesser dogs just don't do it for me. That being said, a well built dog in most any breed will bring a smile to my face!

I happen to have an english pointer, my brother Pat said it all in his posting but to add my piece i have a female in orange and white, my wife and i just had a baby 10 weeks ago and that dog acts like the baby is hers. She loves all children and at the same time guards the house like a real guard dog. She is also a natural grouse dog with very little training, most of all she is a great companion and best friend i would not think twice of getting another one seeing they are my favorite breed. A great choice for any one who wants to hunt or just have a loyal loving house dog, i love them.
