hunting/fishing in Nakusp??

Hi. Anyone know of good spots to fish in the Nakusp area. What are the best lures? Good fishing in Arrow lake?

Got a boat? Get a map, try trolling around creek mouths. Water's still coming up, so boogie down to Arrow Park and try in the Burton Narrows as well. Once the water stabilizes (quits coming up) then it should get even better imo. Talk to locals, watch what everybody else is doing. Good Luck!

Sorry Zedex, I should have been more explicit!
For that area you need a boat.
With the lake level rising, the creeks are in freshet due to snowmelt.
Creekmouths are hotspots therefore.
Troll past them, or approach from the side and spin cast into the creek current.
Watch now for bug hatches, such as flying ants(carpenter ants).
Keep an eye out for rising fish at creekmouths or even the mainlake feedline.
Be sure to take trolling gear, spinning gear and even flyfishing gear.
Trolling willy-nilly is time consuming - try to find where fish might concentrate, such as narrows, creeks or main lake feedlines, whatever might attract them to feeding.
Try spinning bucktails at creekmouths early AM or late PM for Bull trout (Dolly).
It's a bit early for Kokanee, but if you find them (rising), you can go for them with a flaser and wedding ring-maggot setup or try flasher-rapala minnow in case there are any of those bigger rainbows in there hunting them.

if you have a dinghy or small boat try Box or Summit lake just out of Nakusp. bring your flyrod and a few chronomids and hold on.

Great stuff. Much appreciated.:grin: We will have a boat at the ready.
We are camping at Halcyon so the area is new to us. Other than the spings, any info on a good quad ride?

Quad rides.......just before the Nakusp Hotsprings there is a forestry (Kuskanucks) service road heading north, decent enough ride. And the Half Way Forestry Service Road (half way between Nakusp and Galena Bay Ferry) is also a nice ride, make sure you bring a camera as the scenery is spectacular in the back end of those roads if the snow doesnt stop you. Also good place for blackies, and if your lucky you might see woodland caribou.....

fishing from shore works wellm also small marshmellows, worms on the bottom
flyfishing find an area that has bee's and use a bumblebee pattern right close to shore first thing in the morning .
