I was out practicing today and the hand grip fell off my new bow:mad: Just curious what I can use to glue it back on. Its a BowTech TomCat that I just bought last week. Its a cheaper plastic grip and was glued on by the looks of it previously. I would sure like to get a better grip installed but time is an issue at the moment with the bear season starting to warm up. Anything I can but that will keep the damn thing in place!

I'd try a two part epoxy and let it sit for over night and all the next day.

Good luck........

Dan I would agree with you on the two part epoxy, it will hold like sh-t to a blanket for a long time. MIKE

So guys is this a normal problem? Up until this the bow was performing flawless. I am a recurve shooter that switched to a compound so I don't have a whole bunch of compound experience. I will say a nice shaped wood grip would be a great improvement to the little piece of rubber it came with!

There are quite a few after market pieces that are available. Try these guys and see is something "floats your boat" or "fluffs your kilt."

Or......go to http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/ and do a "search" on replacement grips.

If you're thinking about putting a wooden grip on there in the not too distant future - don't glue your rubber one back on. Wrap some tape around the grip until you make your mind up. If you glue on your old grip you'll have a heckova time getting it off.

Make sure you don't glue it too good or it will be a SOB to get off. Maybe just do the back and not the sides or very little on the sides. If you aren't going to put a different grip on it, glue the hell out of it.

Thanks for the replys guys. The shop that sold me the bow is fixing it up for me. I was going to upgrade the grips but this way it will give me an excuse to buy another bow next year! But honey! I need a new one with a better grip!! That will be the excuse next year!

He is in Leader Sask. and puts alot of string makers to shame ...also does a great job on custom grips

sadly no website .... Allan is a backwards Sask Guy .... I have tried to talk him into fer years .... if you were at the Nats in PG in 2k4 he had a booth here .... he was also at nats in Lethbridge in 2k6 with a booth as i am sure he will be around a few more places in the future, he built a sweet set of plates for my Pro Tec that I just sold ... his strings are by far the best I have ever used as the serving has yet to separate on my super tec after what must be 1000 shots ... most other big name strings usually separate on my sprial cams after about 100.

Below is a pic of my Trykon with a new Worlds Best string ...but not of the new sideplates yet .... when I get em I will post up.

I also found about a 10 fps upgrade from factory strings
