Hey everyone just looking through some of the photo discs from last summer and found some salmon fishing pics of our trip back to NF. This was the first week of July and fishing was awesome, we had 6 tags to fill 4 of mine and 2 of my dads. In 4 days of fishing we filled our 6 tags, hooked and released 8 fish, hooked and lost to many to count. Most of the salmon we caught were in the 3.5-4lbs range, the river in my home town doesn't get any real big salmon until mid to late Sept. thats when the run of 10-20lbs fish head up the river, by that time the season is closed. All rivers are single barbless fly, which makes for some awesome fights. Hope you enjoy!!!

What were you using for gear? (ie. rod weight, line, flies)

The rod and reel i'm using is just a cheep Wal-Mart job, paid ~$50 for the rod it's a 7-8 weight heavy action and ~$35 for the reel. The line is a 8 weight Dragonfly, The flies we used were #6 and #8 wet flies in Blue Charm and Green Islander, Atlantic Salmon paterns and got one or two on an Orange Bug.
