I'll be on the Island from May 14 - 18th. Sooke area visiting family. I was thinking of tagging up with someone to share a rental & fuel, whatever it takes to get a fish or 2. I have both salmon and hali gear.
On the flip side, 10 days later, I'll be up in the Peace River area back in Alberta. May 26 - 28th for a 3 day bear hunt.
My fishing host is welcome to tag up with me again for 2 - 3 days on this trip. My area is a good one, some baits will be out. My trail cameras caught some great phase color bears in this same area last summer.

Maybe blacktailstalker ??

Send a PM if interested.

Has a decent trip.
Two 10 lb springs at Church Rock out of Pedder bay on the 15th.
One nice 7 lb Black sea bass while jigging a few days later.
Will be back out in mid July for another go at 'er.

Off to the Peace River region next week for bear.

Just saw this post now, sorry I didnt get back to you ! I'm bored with a day off and reading anything and everything lol.

Fishing should, actually it will, be a lot better when you return, with the springs around in full force.
I live further up island in Courtenay and I'm between boats right now :(
Not sure who is good for a charter down there as I've never gone out on a charter.

Thanks Blacktail. I have my next trip planned for July 21 - 27th.
I have my rods all prepped, and a pair of 1050 Scotty riggers too.
Will likely rent out of Pedder if I can't catch on with my Uncles friends.

Mr Dean,
The bear trip was a hoot. The wife wasn't pleased about me going up alone, but I know the area and was careful about what I did.
A bit embarrasing having bears turn the table and bait me thought LOL.
Really, one came out on an old rig road and walked away from me, too far for a shot, then I followed him up about an hr later, only to see a bear in my truck when I came back, I fell for the old trick LOL.

Here is the story as I posted it on another forum.
And another post of an over night bait camera, that I set up.
