I've been frustrated more than once that three-letter words are dropped from all forum searches. I realize this is my problem, not yours, but is it possible to change? Can I plead and beg for three-letter words to be allowed in forum searches?

"SKS" --> searches nothing
"Win Mag" --> searches nothing
"303 British" --> searches for "British"

Yeah, why at all, huh? :)

OK, how about "doe", "roe", "tie", "cut", ...

4 character searches are fairly common... I bet with 3 you just have too many possibilities....

If the search results are paged like a thread's replies are, I don't see a problem with having hundreds or even thousands of results. Plus, the search already strips out common four-letter words (that, when, with, ...) so why not do the same with three-letter words?

My reason for whining about this is so that I don't post new threads about old topics due to simply being unable to find them. I'd sure rather read the existing, shall we say, "wisdom" ;) that's buried in the forums than re-ask old questions.

will it work with a wildcard in the search??? like say SKS* or *303?

Hmm, that does appear to be a decent work-around as long as the three-letter root is unique enough. Depending on the word, though, it might include too many unrelated results. Still, I'm satisfied in the meantime. Thanks, WOT!
