A message from the Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club (http://www.nvfishandgameclub.ca/):

If you would like to continue to be able to access Crown land and public lakes in BC to take part in fishing, hunting, or any other recreational activity, please consider a donation to our fundraising campaign (https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/8z7oe).

A large land owner in the Merritt area has restricted public access, and the Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club needs your support to continue a court challenge to reopen public access to public roads leading to public lakes and lands in the Merritt area.

Our hope is that if successful, this case will set a precedent for many similar situations in BC that have gone unchallenged, where public spaces are being blocked by large landowners at an alarming pace.

We are receiving some support from West Coast Environmental Law and the BC Wildlife Federation, but need your support to reach our fundraising goal of $300,000.00 to continue to fight this issue on behalf of British Columbians.

If you support maintaining public access to BC's lakes and Crown land for hunting, angling, or any recreational purpose, consider making a donation to our fundraising campaign by clicking here (https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/8z7oe) or on the link above.

For more information on this critical issue, contact:

Rick McGowan, Chairman of the Nicola Valley Fish and Game Clubs Access Committee, at (250) 378-5661 or by email at rickandpattimcgowan@gmail.com (mailto: rickandpattimcgowan@gmail.com)

Absolutly nothing wrong with more than one reminder, this is a fund raiser not a popularity contest, the more making folks aware the better.

Agreed. Enough with the chest-beating and let's focus on the important issue.

No problem guys. Didn't realize I was chest beating or trying to be popular. I will think twice before posting next time. Thanks for the laugh.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a few of their cows dropped on crown land now..

If all hunters gave just 5% of their annual hunting cost to this it would ensure continued hunting for us and future generations.
Of course if you don't contribute someone else will . It's like being on welfare if you don't do your fair share.

Why don't they just get the Natives on it, then it will be over in no time at all. I'm surprise they aren't already really. Oh, but wait, they probably won't be interested since it offers no financial gain to them...

It should be illegal for a private land owner to restrict access to any public land period ! Who do they think they are better than any one else BIG Q MARK ! If the land is only accessible by means of the private land around it the road or pathway to the public land should be bought from the land owner by the people and maintained by those who use it ! Or the land owner must allow access and the upkeep and cleaning of the right a way should be maintained and cleaned within reason by the owner and the users. No Brainer !
