3075 Slocan St., Vancouver, B.C.
Hosted by BCWF Region 2 (Lower Mainland) and the Italian Canadian Rod & Gun Club

Resident hunters: is your access to wildlife under fire? The Province of B.C. has set a new allocation policy that has dramatically reduced resident hunters' share of wildlife in our province. BCWF Region 2 (Lower Mainland) and the Italian-Canadian Rod & Gun Club are hosting a Wildlife Allocation Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, January 22nd at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver.

The meeting will feature a presentation and important information about the new Wildlife Allocation policy including:

* What the Guide Outfitters Association of B.C. has requested
* How these changes will affect resident hunters in B.C.
* How you can ensure your continued right to hunt in B.C.

Join us and learn how you can speak out against B.C.'s new wildlife allocation policy!

this is starting to look very promising .if we have a big turn out in all the meetings that will probably go a long way to encouraging the minister.....dale

Thanks to the BCWF panel for a great meeting tonight and Italian Sporting Goods for your support in securing the meeting location. With approx.185 people showing up, this was a decent turnout. Now I'm not a NDP'er, but Adrian Dix showed up vowing to help our cause in the public eye and in the legislature(only time will tell). Let's not get on a political party rant with this one, we need every bit of support that we can collect(NDP or otherwise). Thanks to Colin(BCWF Panel) for putting Adrian on the spot; hopefully Mr.Dix caught the very direct point to put his money where his mouth is. Thanks to all who showed up tonight too. .

PS: Don't forget the ralley in Kelowna Jan 31/15 11:00am. United we stand, Divided we fall.

Hi Folks
Great meeting great turn out (150 plus) including local MLA Adrian Dix.
Adrian spoke and was challenged to take to the legislature our concerns and challenge the Premier on how this current allocation policy is in line with her "Family Values" platform?
A great idea coming from the audience is to have copies of the petition and form letters at future meetings, Club AGM's and banquets.

I liked hearing Adrian Dix challenged to bring the family values question to crusty clark in legislation meetings in February. We're far from there guys but we're gaining momentum. One point that was made was that hand written letters go much further than pre form letters or email. They're almost morally obligated to read them when hand written, at least that's what I gathered.

I too was at the meeting. Informative to be sure. I was mildly surprised that Mr Dix did not go on an anti Liberal speech, but instead chose to frame the issue as to how it affects all BC residents, hunters or not. He promised that the issue will be brought up again and again in the Legislature. He reminded us about the importance of the personal letters to MLAs. He said the personal letter, no matter how short it may be carries more weight than anything else.

He also suggested that a simple phone call to your MLAs office, even if you only speak to an assistant is very important. Ask simple questions but demand a call back. Do it more than once. It all adds up.

thank you all that tended the Vancouver meeting last night. thanks also goes out to the Italian Canadian club for sponsoring this event. there were 177 in attendance. I was happy to see Adrian dix in attendance and him speaking on our behalf rather then making it political .we had half of the bcwf provincial body there and al martin gave a great presentation, followed by a question period with a lot of younger guys asking pertanent questions. I hope our message gets throw about keeping up the pressure as this is being recognized as a problem by not just the media but by government...good work....dale

Right on Dale we need a renewed letter writing campaign to show how serious we are about this. If you have taken a bit of a break from the Eamil/letters, now is the time to renew the "assault" with a vengeance. We have their attention and so now is the time to "sock it to the" We can and WILL win this if everyone keeps up the pressure and also spreads the word.
