The BCWF Access policy is as follows:

The BCWF policy and position on public access, which has been developed
through a provincial resolution system and democratic voting process,
are as follows.

*_PUBLIC ACCESS POLICY_*

*_ _*

1. The B.C. Wildlife Federation supports the principle of public access
to public lands.

2. The B.C. Wildlife Federation supports the process of coordinated
access planning as a method for resolving disagreements among various
interests.

*_ _*

*_ACCESS POLICY_*__

* *

*Policy - No. 1*

To obtain and maintain reasonable Public Access to all forests and
recreational areas of the province

* *

*Policy - No. 2*

The B.C. Wildlife Federation supports the principle of public access to
public land and waterways.

* *

*Policy - No. 3*

When “Common Property” values are threatened by excessive access it may
be appropriate to restrict, prohibit or eliminate some methods of access.

* *

*Policy - No. 4*

To foster relationships with Landowners and others having legitimate
interest on the land base in order to encourage the widest possible
availability of access to our recreations.

As a provincial organization with regional and local representative
bodies, the BC Wildlife Federation is well suited to consult on, and
evaluate access opportunity with an overall view to conserving fish,
wildlife and their habitat while allowing continuing public access to
those resources.

All access opportunities cannot be measured with the same guidelines.
Environmental, conservation and safety concerns vary widely across the
province and as such, all values must be considered when determining any
access restriction.

The BC Wildlife Federation will continue to carry forward the direction
on access management that has been provided by the membership.

Yours in Conservation,

Mel Arnold

BCWF President

In the past the Fed has stated opposition to Wildlife Damage Compensation funds going to land owners unless there are hunting opportunities for the public (where feasible)....therefore I dont "think" that the BOD would be happy with this one. But I will find out.
