BCWF is bringing the Go Wild! Youth for Conservation Program to Northern Vancouver Island Tuesday, August 5th through Friday, August 8th, 2014!


The Go Wild! Program introduces youth ages 13-17 to fish & wildlife conservation, ecology, and sustainability, and strives to inspire an interest in environmental stewardship. Participants will leave with the skills and knowledge to become involved in conservation projects in their community.

Tuesday, August 5th through Friday, August 8th, 2014
9:00am to 4:30pm
Meet at the Courtenay Fish & Game Club
We have a jam-packed week planned!


Tuesday, August 5th
Bask in the beauty of Comox Lake at the Courtenay Fish and Game Club, try your hand at archery, enjoy a BBQ Lunch, and learn about sustainability during the "Power of ‘R’" presentation.


Wednesday, August 6th
After completing an important conservation project to help restore the beach on Denman Island, we will explore the area for a bit of fun and relaxation.


Thursday, August 7th
A trip to the Bear Creek Nature Park and a tour of the Oyster River Enhancement Society Hatchery, followed by presentations and tours from Conservation Officers, Natural Resource Officers, BC Parks, and the Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society.


Friday, August 8th
Travel to the Deep Bay Marine Field Station and discover a fascinating world of inter-tidal aquatic species, tour the North Island Wildlife Recovery Association, and finish off the week with a fun leadership game.
