I think I've narrowed my choice down to this. Sorry to all you Leupy fans, it's a Bushnell.

If you have one, I'd like to hear your review - Thanks.

I assume that scope is a Bushnell Legend? I wouldnt waste the money on it. I'd take a look at the Elite 15-45x60. I've never looked through one, but it replaces the older B&L Elite model, so I dont think it will be much different.

Is that a huge difference between a Older B&L Elite 15-45x60 and a Bushnell Elite 15-45x60 ?

Rainguard coating is probably the only difference

Yes, it is a legend 20-60x with an 80mm objective lens.
I haven't found one for sale yet, never mind getting my hands one one.

I'm kinda stuck on the 80mm and have a budget of $500 tops. Is there something in that price range that's decent, or is this just a 'Pipe Dream'?

I bought an Elite 15-45 NIB on Ebay for $340 CND to my door. Awesome optics for the money.

I read somewhere that Bushnell issued an 'alert' about knock-offs being sold on e-bay(?)

I'm sure that it was on their website but I can't seem to find it now.

I have a B&L Elite, love it. Just don't look through a Zeiss or Swarovski before or after you buy.

For the money, you can't beat the Elite line of spotters.

I have concluded that Trophy and Legend spotters are like trying to compare apples to crab-apples. The Legends are MUCH sweeter.

They DO have better optics.
They DO have better light transmission.
They DO have crisper, sharper images when dialed up.
They DO have better focusing abilities/mechanisims.

But they DO NOT stand up to a scope that's priced in the $500 and over club.

A local dealer made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. I'm now a proud owner of a 20x-60x X 60mm Legend Spotter. I gave up on the 80mm idea. I pack heavy as it is and this 60mm is bright enough IMO.

After having a chance to play w/ it for a couple of days, I'm fairly certain that it'll do ME, just fine. The seller (by accident) got their products packed up in the wrong boxes at the end of the Outdoors Show. The scope that I received turned out to be a Trophy. They look VERY simular. But once on the tripod with my eye scanning the ditches, I new something wasn't right. I'm certain that if I didn't 'shop' before I 'got', I wouldn't have noticed the diff, and the next guy that purchased a Trophy, would've gotta hell of a deal.

This was 2 weeks after me being able to 'test' them sxs at the show. Things are that much more noticable with the Lengends.

For ~ $300 they get my endorsement as Bang for the Buck!

I'm not a Sheep or Goat hunter though. But if/when I get to that stage, I think that it should work well, served as a begginer/entry level ID tool, on that type of hunt. For now, I just wanna be able to judge Ungulates and Bears - I'm tired of wasting time on loooong stalks, on animals that I end up passing on.
