Overkill :a) The capability to obliterate a target with more weapons than required.
b) Any effort that seems to go farther than would be necessary to achieve it's goal.

Well you gotta admit bud - most of us don't have "point at enemy, stand clear" stenciled on the ends of our guns :)

Most of us see a bowling ball and think 'some 10 pin would be fun'. You think "hmm - 110 grains of imr 4350..." :) :)
