I heard there was a designated palce to hunt waterfowl around Chemainus or Cow Bay, is this true?

And also is it a place were you can hunt ducks without a dog?

You can hunt ducks in Cow Bay but unfortunately it's closed for ducks til next season. You can hunt geese there starting on the 14th of Feb. until 10 Mar. There are guys that hunt there without a dog or boat/canoe but I wouldn't recommend it.

As long as the season is open, you have a migratory bird licence and you can access the area (ie. it's not private) I don't see any problems.
