I'm going to guess it's a type of scull. I'm going to say a seal maybe?

Okay....enough screwing around....it would appear to the common eye that it truly is a white square with a red X in it. Sorry to spoil it guys and gals : )

I don't know why some can see it and some cannot but I can always see it....no red X. I myself have had this same problem on other sites.
So far none of you have hit the nail directly on the head although one of you is very warm.
I will check in tonight and divulge the identity of the critter at that time.

How about Thunderstix forgot to post whatever he was putting up, to test our knowledge? Then the thread got carried away. But I do like Foxer's answer however.

There is no magnification, so that rules out an inside view of martaa's brain pan!

T-Stix.....I can see it now. But it made for some good giggles this afternoon. I am going to guess the head of a bear hide turned inside out as well.....or something turned inside out or that has rubbed the hair right off of it's head from ticks or something like that?/

Looking forward the "reveal"

Well, you guys that kept bringing up the bear hit the nail on the head....at least as far as which animal it is. It is actually a black bear head that I had in the ocean for 3 or 4 days but a pack of wolves pulled the carcass (Actually 2 whole skinned out/demeated carcasses) back up onto shore for a feed....must have been real hungry that day. Only the hair had fallen out up to that point and I thought it looked like a dead pit bull head or something.
