Everybody talks about having a length of Paracord in their bags for just in case.

I've keep my eyes open, and looked around a bit a can't seem to find para cord in the Lower Mainland, Richmond especially.

Even tried that surplus shop in New west,...nada.

Seems this paracord would work well for string decoys, making lanyards, and other misc task.

So anybody seen any?...

Most stores that sell a trashy outdoors gear lineup should have some, usually white. Maybe Coglans ? or World Famous ? Try asking for accessory cord.
I found some in a fishing supply shop (Hub ?? name escapes me) in Vanc. The spool was about 18 " dia. about 20,000 feet ?maybe? Bought a pail full for use on prawn traps.

I've seen the white stuff.
Guess I should have been more specific.

Anybody see OD, brown, black paracord? These would string decoys better, and make nicer lanyards.

thanks

Try Pacific Net and Twine in Steveston. They've got everything. K

Good idea, I'll wander by. I do wonder about the $$ as they are specialty shop.

My brothers been making duck and goose lanyards since the start of the season and selling them and he searched for along time in local shops for certain colours, the same ones you want and he found it was cheaper and easy to just buy off army surplus stores on the web. I guess if you just wanna find some to keep in your pack its not a good route to go but for my brother he can order hundreds of feet of the stuff in any colour he wants.

IIRC Dave's surplus has some a few guys purchase a few lengths there to make lanyards.

I have planned to pick up about 15m of 5mm climbing rope for general use in the pack (hand lining up steep stuff, tying up game to drag out, bear bag cord, etc). MEC sells it, most climbing stores do too. But the ultimate is 15m or so of webbing. Have a shoe or luggage repair store properly stitch a loop on one end and Voila! You are in business for almost anything.

How so ?
I think you are better off with the 5 mil. and some 3 mil. for prussiks.

Just bought 1000 ft. roll of black off e bay and including shipping it was about $60. I swear by it and although it is alot of cord you have enough for many years use and to give to friends.
